“In raising your children spend half as much money and twice as much time”
It's the weekend again. Time keeps getting away from me. So many things coming up that just a few weeks ago seemed so far away. Now they are approaching at what seems like break neck speeds. Two and a half weeks until we are Grandparents again. Approximately 6 weeks until Thanksgiving and our trip to Texas and to Oklahoma. About 10 weeks until Christmas and our drive back to Kentucky. I am not ready! Gotta get myself organized and come up with a plan. Probably should make alist. Or two. Maybe even three or four.
Our week included.......
* Half way through the second grading period and both girls are doing very well.
* Started giving the girls cooking lessons this week. Jazmyne made country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, hominy and biscuits. On her night, Amber made chicken and dumplings. They had such fun!
* Ray ordered the "Smart Music" computer program and microphone to help the girls practice their instruments at home. It is awesome!
* Got lots of books in the mail this week. Some more AR books for Amber and a book that Jaz had asked for, all from Amazon. Also placed an order with Scholastic Book Club through Amber's class. So nice to be able to do that online now. Ordered four books for Amber, and they had the newest "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" so I ordered that for Jazzy. Then, because we had placed our order online last month, Amber had a coupon for a free book, so she picked a fifth book. One other neat thing about the online ordering is that for every online order, the teacher gets a free book for the classroom.
* Kids had 1/2 school day today because of homecoming. Jaz marched in the parade downtown. Ray and Amber went to watch.
* This week was a/c maintenence week. They came on Tuesday for routine maintenence. They came back on Wednesday and installed a new central air unit. Makes a world of difference in here.
* Hubby bought me new nail polish...Mochachino. A chocolate cherry color. Very pretty, very autumn-ish.
* He also bought me some hair dye. He picked out "Full Tilt Toffee." I like the way it looks on the box. Hopefully I will like it on my hair. He promised to dye it tomorrow.
* Kids are getting flu shots (actually the mist) at their schools. I think I like that. It's never been an option for us before.
* Social Studies Fair is coming up. Amber wants to do "Christmas Around the World." Have to wait and see if her teacher approves it before we can get started.
Ok, that is all from here in the swamps. Maybe next week will bring something more blog worthy.
