Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that make my job as a homemaker easier, more convenient, or just more fun.

1. Vinegar...I use it for some cleaning, but mostly as a laundry aid. It also has many uses in the health and beauty department. I keep a big jug of it on hand at all times.

2. My Computer...It has seriously improved my ability to do my job. Banking, paying bills, postage, shopping, recipes, coupons, homework help, and the list goes on...how did I manage without it?

3. My Micro Fiber Mop...This isn't the exact one I have, but the closest picture I could find. I hate sponge mops. I love strings mops, but not the strings that tend to shed out of them. This mop was the perfect solution.

4. Dishwasher Gel Packs...No more almost empty bottles of dishwasher soap under the sink. No more drips or spills (my kids are messy) I love these little things.

5. My Dish Network DVR...Doesn't really make my job easier, just makes it more convenient for watching my favorite shows on my schedule instead of the network's schedule.

6. My Febreeze Scentstories Player...Ok,again, this really doesn't make my job any easier or more convenient, I just like it a lot. Much better than cans of sprays or burning candles.

7. My Mini Mixer/Chopper...This thing does it all...blends, chops, whips, crushes ice, makes great smoothies and milk shakes...and takes up practically no counter space. I use it almost daily.

8. My Dyson Vacuum...I wanted one for so, so long, yet the price intimidated me. So glad hubby finally just bought the darn thing and ended my internal debate. LOVE IT!

9. Pledge Orange Oil Wipes...I am a bit obsessive about dust and these things are great for a quick daily dusting. And they smell awesome.

10. My crockpot...There was a time when I wasn't a fan of crockpot cooking, but the appliance world has improved. Don't know how I would survive without it now.

11. Wintergreen Alcohol...This is my cleaner of choice. Cleans anything, smells great, and is very economical.

12. Downy Wrinkle Releaser...YAY! No more ironing! A quick spritz and a few tugs and girls have uniforms ready for school.

13. Bounce Dryer Bar...I love the fact that I no longer find used dryer sheets on the laundry room floor, stuck to my clothes, in the kitty litter box, etc.

I completely agree about sponge mops...they get disgusting SO quickly. *shudder* And I'll have to look into the Mini Mixer/Chopper thingy...my kitchen (called the "Closet Kitchen") is woefully small and I need useful items that don't take up a ton of space.

I <3 my Crockpot and use it constantly. And that bounce dryer bar?! It is SO fantastic to not have a million little dryer sheets wandering around the basement and finding their way into pockets and socks. :)

I agree with everything on the list, it makes it all easier. And I have no idea how life worked before DVR! *smile*

I love orange pledge wipes. Better yet... my son loves to use them! Oh.. if you add some sprigs of lavendar to viniger, it creates a nice scent for cleaning.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today - I wanted to do the same and say hi.

I'm also a big vinegar person (both for cleaning and for laundry), and my slow-cooker may be one of the most important things I have in my kitchen!

Happy T13,
Mel.

I also bought those gel packs for the dishwasher but have never really used them yet. I have everything in your list except for the crockpot and chopper.
